SICILIA PT.2

Tomorrow we leave Sicily and head to Portugal. We spent an excellent day at the beach today, the water was perfect and it wasn’t too crowded while we were there. Definitely sad to leave - it has been so peaceful and wonderful here - but looking forward to time in Portugal and meeting up with Ben’s parents for a few days. Thankfully, we are not quite done with Italy yet, and will return in early November to spend some time in Florence and in Rome,  meeting up with my parents before heading back to Southeast Asia for the winter.

We were fortunate enough to experience two weekend festivals here in town the last two weeks, where we enjoyed being the only discernible foreigners, and ate fresh octopus, sausages, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and gelato. Going to the beach in Cefalu has been easy using public transport. Cheaper than renting a car and - I supposed - has the added benefit of decreasing our overall carbon footprint/counteracting the carbon impact of our flights.
